2025 Baoding Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in June)

#The Business Suite We selected a Business Suite, at the "Zhongyin Hotel", also know as the "Jasper Hotel" in Baoding. The front of house added me to her Wechat, when we checked in. We were out for most of the day, as we had meetings to attend. We returned later that evening, and the front of house night staff, were courteous enough, to show us to our suite. "The room was preheated, and nice & warm, upon our arrival". This suite, was extremly spacious and elegant, and we both sincerely enjoyed it. Living Room: A lovely living room, with a comfortable sofa and ample space. Bedroom: The bed was comfortable, with high quality bedding. Bathroom: As for the bathroom, well it's very spacious with a walk in shower and a large bathtub. We enjoyed panoramic views of the city, from the suite. Buffet style breakfast was served, at the Horizon Restaurant on the 3rd floor. "The selection was good, with both Chinese and Western Style dishes to enjoy". Overall the hotel has a classic and elegant feel to it, with quality finishes, which remain timeless. The entire team of staff, ensured that we enjoyed our stay. Special thanks to the front office's, YangQian for her superb service. As well as the front office manager (Cindy), for her superb service, and for meeting our requests. We can recommend this hotel for business or leisure, foreign or domestic guests, will enjoy a high quality stay here. Upon our next visit to Baoding, we will surely return to the Zhongyin Hotel.

Baoding Botanical Garden is worth a trip if you need a break from the bustling city, and a breath of fresh air. It is a huge green space, a haven amidst the skyscrapers, with statues, lakes and even a small fair park to enjoy. Lots of places to sit and eat a picnic, and escape that summer sunshine in the shade of the forests. Visit in spring for the first blooms, in summer to escape the heat, and autumn for the changing leaves. A beautiful place! #triplocal

📌Yishui Lake 📌 From the ticket gate to the location we have to board the ship for approximately 10 minutes. Entrance and shipping fees are 120 RMB. At the location we are presented with a natural view of the lake surrounded by hills. The path used to climb hills is strong and comfortable, especially the climbing process that is not too difficult, suitable for young children and old people. Be careful with your items, especially sunglasses and hats. Because of the wind or accidentally falling, do not expect to be taken back. You are not allowed to climb the road fence or go down the hillside. #givethanks

The dazzling castle exterior 🏰 and rainbow bridge instantly transport you to a fairy tale world—so stunning it leaves you speechless! The coffee and dessert shop inside the windmill at the entrance ☕️ has such a cozy vibe. The fountain in the backyard ⛲️ is perfect for Instagram-worthy shots—every corner is photogenic. Inside the castle is a play area, and it's wonderfully cool in summer 🥰. There's an incredible variety of breads and pastries—🧁🥧🍰🎂🍞🥨—plus free samples! The "Foguang Peak - Flying Fox Gorge" hiking route is extremely challenging. You can also make a wish at the "Mountain Oath Platform".  4. Yesanpo National Park: A 5A-level scenic spot. It integrates canyons, caves, and lakes. In spring, the mountain flowers are in full bloom, and in autumn, the forests are ablaze with color. You can also explore the wonder of "Grain Rain Fish Spouting" in Yugu Cave.  5. Yishui Lake Scenic Area: Known as the "Little Guilin of the North". I recently took my child 🧒 to Baoding for a couple of days. The city's attractions are centrally located, mostly in Lianchi District, so we booked a hotel 🏨 there. It was really convenient because we could walk 🚶‍♀️ to most places in about 10 minutes without having to take a taxi. 🏨 Yulan Hotel (Baoding Zhili Governor's Office Branch) 📍 Address: Building B, Yuhuajin Street, Yuahua Road, Lianchi District, Baoding City ✅ The hotel is a 3-star comfort hotel, but the facilities are quite new. We booked a Quiet Elegance Double Room 🛏️, which was spacious at over 40 square meters. ✅ The location is the hotel's biggest selling point. Whether you're going to West Street, the Zhili Governor's Office 🏛️, the Ancient Lotus Pond 🏞️, the Daci Temple 🛕, the Huai Army Office, or the Qinghe Dao Office, it's only about a 10-minute walk 🚶‍♀️. Super convenient! ✅ The hotel's entrance is right next to the Baoding Yuhuajin Street 🅿️ paid parking lot, which has 51 parking spaces. Hotel guests can park for free if they are driving 🚗. ✅ The room has all the basic amenities. The only thing missing is a small refrigerator, but it's not a big deal for a short stay. ✅ The staff 👩‍💼 are very welcoming and always greet you with a smile 💬. The service is prompt, whether you need extra blankets or bottled water. ✅ The only "downside," in my opinion, is that the soundproofing 🎧 in the rooms could be better. If you're a light sleeper, I recommend bringing earplugs.

Queues are required during peak hours, so it is recommended to go in advance. 4️⃣885 Convenience Center (Market Early Market) Relatively unpopular, but if you like to visit the early market to experience the local life, you can take a stroll if you have time. There is a delicious Shaomai at the main entrance. There are many shops selling horse meat in the market, and many people buy halal baked cakes. Walking to the back, there is a row of shops where you can eat breakfast.
