A Cozy Authentic Portuguese Restaurant by the Douro River: PapaVinhos
While traveling in Porto, the second largest city in Portugal, I stumbled upon a Portuguese restaurant called 'PapaVinhos' while strolling along the Douro River. Because it is not located in the bustling city center, there are relatively fewer tourists, the prices are reasonable, and it has a leisurely and romantic riverside atmosphere.
PapaVinhos offers authentic Portuguese cuisine, especially in their steak and seafood dishes, which are fresh and delicious. The flavors are quite mild, not too salty or spicy, which suits Taiwanese tastes well. My friend and I ordered steak and cod as our main courses, which were prepared in a style similar to creamy baked seafood. It was a unique cooking method that we hadn't tried before and it was quite good.
Portuguese potato chips are all hand-cut irregularly, retaining the skin and deep-fried, making them much tastier than frozen ones! The dishes also come with a large amount of salad, which helps to balance the richness of the meal. Overall, the dining experience was very pleasant, and the staff were super nice, which is probably why the place is popular with locals.
