Visiting Hidcote Manor Garden is like walking through a beautifully illustrated storybook—each turn leads to a new page, a new mood, and a new visual surprise. This iconic garden, developed over decades by the visionary Lawrence Johnston, is a triumph of structure, intimacy, and seasonal magic.
Wander through outdoor rooms framed by tall yew hedges and stone walls, each revealing a unique setting: sun-drenched borders overflowing with perennials, tranquil lily pools, and formal lawns lined with lavender and roses. The flow from one space to another feels both spontaneous and deliberate, like a well-choreographed dance between nature and design.
It's a place that rewards slow exploration—where even the smallest details, like a perfectly framed view or a forgotten path, feel like personal discoveries.
Why Visit:
Explore one of the first truly "garden-room" designs
See rare and unusual plants brought from around the world
Experience peace, creativity, and Cotswold charm in one place
Ideal for garden lovers, photographers, and seekers of beauty

Charming History and Countryside Beauty: My Visit to Chipping Campden
#europetrip #travel #xmas2024 #countryside
Chipping Campden stole my heart the moment I arrived. The town’s stunning high street, lined with golden Cotswold stone buildings, felt like stepping back into history. I wandered through its quaint streets, discovering hidden shops, traditional tea rooms, and beautiful gardens. The breathtaking St. James' Church and the impressive Market Hall were highlights, showcasing the town’s rich heritage. Beyond the town, the surrounding countryside offered peaceful walks, with rolling hills and scenic views that were absolutely serene. Chipping Campden is the perfect blend of history, beauty, and tranquility, and I left feeling completely enchanted.

A Taste of Elegance in the Cotswolds: Lunch at Huxleys cafe
#myhiddengems #voyagevibes #travellerswonderland
Huxley’s Cafe & Brasserie in Chipping Campden is a delightful culinary haven in the heart of the Cotswolds. I enjoyed a fantastic lunch featuring the cod fillet risotto and seafood pasta, both of which were impeccably prepared and bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. The cod was cooked to perfection, blending beautifully with the creamy risotto, while the seafood pasta was a delightful medley of rich tastes that truly showcased the kitchen’s mastery of Italian-inspired cuisine.
To complement the meal, I ordered an iced mocha, which was a refreshing and indulgent treat, striking the perfect balance of coffee and chocolate. The atmosphere at Huxley’s is cozy and inviting, set in a charming 500-year-old building that exudes character. The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about creating a memorable dining experience.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing spot for coffee, a casual lunch, or a special dinner, Huxley’s is a must-visit gem that combines warm hospitality with exceptional food.

Chipping Camden: The quintessential English Village
For those visiting England from afar the romantic view of an old English Village is often hard to find. But if you visit the Cotswolds, you’re never far away from this image. Chipping Camden is one of those places. Perfect all year round but especially beautiful on a cold, crisp winters day where you can either take a winters hike up to Broadwater Tower or just relax by the fire in one the villages many country inns.
