While driving in Scotland, I couldn't help but be amazed on everything that I saw from inside the car. Cameras just don't do Scottish highlands especially Glencoe any justice. The Scottish Highlands are famous for being the setting for the filming of many movies and TV dramas. Harry Potter and, more recently, Outlander are famous for this. Many places are inaccessible without a car, so joining a tour is a good way to get around. Bus tours are highly recommended for solo travelers, as you can sightsee at your own pace without worrying about being alone👍 [Tour itinerary] ❶ Start in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Most tours depart from Edinburgh. There are also tours from Glasgow, so choose a tour that suits your base. ❷ Stop by the photo spot in Glencoe. A scenic spot where the scene of Hagrid's old house in Harry Potter was filmed. ❸ Around Fort William Station It's just around noon, so it's lunchtime. There are souvenir shops here, so you can spend your time however you like. Fort William often appears in Outlander. ❹ Highlight of the tour: Glenfinnan Viaduct The viaduct is famous for that scene in the Hogwarts Express. Unluckily, the train (Jacobite) was out of service on the day I participated, so I couldn't see it, but some tours will bring you there when the train passes by, so check the train schedule before booking your tour⚠️ The view of the hills and the lake was very soothing. If there is time before the next trip, they will stop at a photo spot along the way. The trail was steep and rocky, with sections that tested my ankle stability. I chose to ascend from the right and descend from the left, as the descent on the right was too steep and deemed too difficult. Even the left descent, while still rocky, was manageable with caution. It's important to note that the weather in Glencoe can be unpredictable, with strong winds and fog common. During my hike, I encountered changing weather conditions, which added to the adventure but also required proper preparation. Equipment and Clothing Proper gear is essential for any hike in Glencoe. You shouldn’t skip Glencoe if you plan to go to the Highlands. The view up to the Highlands is so scenic and picturesque. This place is so serene and breathtaking.

#luxuryhotels We would tell everyone to stay here and could not have been more pleased with it. I just want to address some of the other reviews I have seen. Let's be clear, this is an inn in Glencoe, not a luxury hotel in Edinburgh. The room and furniture was a little old, BUT it was clean and neat. While the bathroom is not the largest, it was clean and perfect for my wife and my self. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were very friendly, we wished we had stayed more nights! We will be back!

Great place to go back to and relax in after a hard hike or being out on the water. At the entrance of the canyon, the scenery of the Three Sisters mountains is the most magnificent, with steep ridges towering above the horizon. ►Fort William town Fort William is located next to Loch Linnhe and is the gateway town to the Scottish Highlands and many islands in the north, known as the "Gateway to the Highlands". Whether climbing Ben Nevis, hiking Glen Coe, or visiting Loch Ness and Skye Island, Fort William is an important stop that attracts a large number of hikers and climbers every year. ►Loch Ness Loch Ness is part of the Caledonian Canal, which crosses the Scottish Highlands and connects the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea. It is the third largest freshwater lake in the UK. The bus stops here for 2 hours for free activities, or you can choose to take the Jacobite loch cruise to enjoy the scenery of Loch Ness on the water and visit Urquhart Castle, which is located on the lake. ►Pitlochry Town As evening approached, the bus arrived at Pitelohri, a small town with a permanent population of only 2,500, the last stop of the day's itinerary. I love the tranquility of this small town and its clean streets. If I could spend a night in one of these quaint houses, I'm sure the experience would be wonderful! In front of a certain household's door, their roses and flowers are loved. The owner who can decorate their house like this must be full of love!

Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 fulfilled all my "escape from the world" fantasies. During these days in Scotland, my eyes were filled with misty and ethereal landscapes, with steep and towering mountains seemingly born in the clouds... Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands, the filming location of Harry Potter 🎬. The towering cliffs, trickling streams, like deep blue gems, and undulating mountain ranges ⛰️ make this place a paradise for elves, never disturbed by the outside world. Hiking enthusiasts are obsessed with the grandeur of nature, climbing to the top of the canyon after 2 hours. As a lazy person like me, I prefer to drive up the mountain road, stop the car along the way to capture the movie-like scenes with a snap of my hand.

Glencoe is on the western side of scottish highland and lies in a steep-sided glenco valley. Our journey from Oban is around 60 kilometers 50 minutes drive, if taking public, you can take either bus or train to Fort Willam then transfer to Glencoe. The area is known for waterfalls and trails that climb peaks. Glencoe is the site of the infamous massacre of the MacDonalds in 1692. During summer mountain biking and hiking and numbers of outdoor activities as well.
