A perfect weekend getaway. Nanbei Lake is in Zhejiang, just across the provincial border from Shanghai. The food in the town is delicious and very sweet. There were lots of restaurants and tea houses to visit. Each cluster had its own style and the people in the town were very friendly. When we were there we took the little boat out on the lake and cycled around on the 'chuckle brothers' style tandem. There are lots of hiking trails in the surrounding mountains and new routes were being forged and build in the area. Getting There- from Shanghai we opted to cycle the 130km journey, but a taxi or train and then taxi are options too. This is a spot a little off the beaten track and good opportunity to practice your Chinese #mountainview #lakes

Continuing onward, my boots sank into muddy paths yet discovered unique pleasures. Passing Ancient Bayberry Ridge, the rain-glistened Loquat Ripens Café emitted warm light through its glass walls – I almost imagined Mr. Kim Koo resting there, a cup of rough tea comforting his storm-weary soul. Further up, the Immortal's Gaze boulder appeared more mysterious in the rain, its human-faced silhouette silently recounting legends of "immortals watching clouds." When the rain ceased, I returned along lakeside grass. Raindrops glittered on blades like earth-scattered pearls. In the distance, the Loquat Ripens Café's glass house shone in post-rain sunlight, composing a masterpiece with lake egrets and mountain bamboo shadows. Back at Zhuanshui Pier, though my clothes were damp, my heart overflowed with Jinjiu Trail's rainy gifts – echoes of history, wilderness joys, and a rain-soaked chapter of Sino-Korean friendship.

The name is taken from Tao Yuanming's "Returning to the Countryside" which says "Clouds have no intention of coming out of the mountains, and birds know to return when they are tired of flying". It was first built in the Northern Song Dynasty and is known as "the famous mountain on the sea" and "Putuo at night". There are 73 halls in the nunnery, covering an area of ​​11 mu. It features a three-eave hip-and-gable roof with a corridor-style design, spanning five bays in width and depth. The upper eaves are supported by intricate brackets, including seven-stepped and three-protruding designs, with additional decorative elements such as floating clouds and dragon motifs. Sauce Garden is about one kilometer away from the ancient town. The place is quite big. Seeing this hat and sauce tank in the sauce garden brought back some memories of childhood. Booking a room: Senbo Resort by Nanhu Lake offers various accommodations, including main building rooms, wooden houses, castle rooms, mushroom houses, and boat houses. Behind the granary are the Conception Geometry BOOKS·Granary Bookstore and the Conception Geometry Coffee Factory. The bookstore has a unique layout and offers plenty of comfortable seating. A special display of Yu Hua's works is visible upon entering. I bought a copy of *To Live* as a tribute to Mr. Yu Hua, and I look forward to reading it. The coffee shop is also quite good, offering drinks and light meals. The scenic area also includes the Shendang Restaurant, where we had lunch.
