Those who know will know! One of the three great Ebisu shrines in Japan that you will want to visit ⛩️ Kyoto Ebisu Shrine ⛩️
This time, we will introduce Kyoto Ebisu Shrine, the shrine of Ebisu in Kyoto. Ebisu Shrine is located in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, and is one of the three major Ebisu shrines in Japan, along with Imamiya Ebisu in Osaka and Nishinomiya Shrine in Hyogo. The deities enshrined here are Yashiro Kotoshiro-nushi-no-Okami, Okuninushi-no-Okami, and Sukunahikona-no-Kami. At the second torii gate, there is a basket and a rake with Ebisu's face on it, and it is said that if you throw a coin from underneath and get it in the rake, you will be happy. Also, after visiting the main shrine, if you go around to the back on the left side, there is a sign that says "Please tap gently," but since the Ebisu here is elderly and hard of hearing, it is said that by gently tapping the side of the main shrine, you will be tapping Ebisu's shoulder and making sure to ask for his help. It is a compact but wonderful shrine with a lot of ingenuity, so please visit it when you go to Kyoto! 📍125 Komatsucho, Yamato-oji-dori Shijo-sagaru, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture🚌Get off at Kawaramachi Matsubara on the city bus and walk for about 8 minutes🚃Get off at Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line and walk for about 6 minutes⏰8:30-17:00
