A Mesmerizing Nighttime Escape During CNY: Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple
#newyearnewtrip #travelanywhere #cny2025
On my recent trip to Jenjarom, I had the pleasure of visiting two stunning temples that truly stand out—the Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple and Ban Siew Keng Temple. Both offer unique experiences that capture the spirit and beauty of the area, especially during Chinese New Year.
The Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple is more of a vibrant tourist attraction than a traditional temple, with mesmerizing decorations and beautiful lighting that are best appreciated at night. The FGS Dong Zen Temple’s Lantern & Floral Festival, in particular, is an absolute must-see. The colorful lanterns and intricate floral displays symbolize hope, renewal, and prosperity, creating a serene and magical atmosphere.
Just a short distance away, Ban Siew Keng Temple offers a more tranquil, traditional experience, with its peaceful grounds and spiritual aura. Whether you’re visiting one or both, Jenjarom offers a perfect blend of culture, spirituality, and festive charm, making it a destination worth exploring during the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Took a 60 minutes car ride to arrive in a small town called Jenjarom, which is located in Selangor, and it was such a great idea and road trip from Kuala Lumpur! Visited one of the most popular tourist attraction, Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple. It is a Buddhist temple with scenic lake views, lush greeneries, art gallery, flower garden, restaurant. The temple is well renovated and maintained. It is a huge area for visitors to stroll and roam around, feel the zen and inner peace. I love that the place is quiet and serene, felt peaceful and calm visiting this temple.
I wish to travel to Hong Kong for the food!

🏮 A trip in Temple

Can you imagine this place is a temple?! Full of lantern and Chinese New Year decorations, visitors from all around Malaysia too!
This temple is about 1.5-2hours trip from KL, I would say this trip is worth while. You can bring friends and family from children to elderly.
They also offer range of food at the middle of the temple area too, not to mention, it is under the roof and you can enjoy the meal there without having worried about hot sun during day time.
I wish to travel to HongKong to resemble the busyness of the city and start my shopping spree just like what I used to watch in TV!
🏮2024 Chinese New Year Lantern Festival 🏮
#thingstodo
My favorite thing to do in Chinese New Year is visiting the Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple(佛光山东禅寺), every year weeks before Chinese New Year, this Buddist temple having "Lantern Festival", their massive garden decorated with vivid colourful lightings and beautiful molding lanterns according to the Chinese Zodiac and this year is the "Dragon" year! Apart of that, there have events and blessing ceremonies too. I'm really impressive with their creativity and efforts, its creating a joyful festive atmosphere!
