🗓️ Day 1 In the morning, I flew from Haneda Airport to Kochi Ryoma Airport on flight JL493. After arriving at the airport, I rented a car and drove to Katsurahama Beach. The ocean view was so beautiful and I was impressed! After that, I went to Ryugado Cave. It was cool inside the cave, and I felt the mystery of nature. I returned to the city and had lunch at Hirome Market. The specialty bonito tataki I ate there was even more delicious than I had heard, and I was impressed! 🐟✨ After the meal, I visited Harimaya Bridge. It was really short, and I thought it was definitely one of the "Three Most Disappointing Places in Japan," but it became a good memory! 😅 For dinner, I went to eat yakitori. I was surprised that Kochi's yakitori was also very delicious! After the meal, I walked around the city and digested my meal while walking in front of the station at night. The quiet and tasteful atmosphere was wonderful 🌙. 🗓️ Day 2 In the morning, I went to the famous Sunday Market. At the market, I tried a lot of fresh ingredients and foods unique to Kochi 🍡🍊. Today's special is Matsuba Crab Roe Grilled Rice. The fragrant rice base complements the creamy and rich crab roe, with the strong crab flavor lingering in your mouth. Various Skewers The basic skill of an izakaya is, of course, skewers. The signature dish is the A5 Satsuma Wagyu Skewer, which is rich in flavor, tender, and easy to eat. #AccommodationTravelRecord I stayed at "OMO7 Kochi by Hoshino Resorts" which opened in June 2024, so I'd like to introduce it to you right away♪ It is located about a 10-minute walk from the express bus stop "Harimayabashi Station". The road is wide, so it should be easy to walk even if you have a large suitcase. When you enter the hotel, the front desk is on the left, and after checking in, you can pick up only the necessities such as toothbrushes and loungewear at the amenity corner right next to it and go up to your room. This time, we were staying with three people, so we chose a large room called "Utage Suite Omotabi." It was a nice, clean space, and above all, the view from the room was amazing! There are not many tall buildings around the hotel, so I think the view is good from every room. And at this hotel, a Yosakoi live performance in which guests can participate is held every night! We were given a clattering tool called Naruko, so we all had fun ringing it. After the show, we went to the hotel's large public bath. The open-air bath overlooking the garden is amazing! It is a tourist market built on the former residence of the Tosa clan's chief retainer and is a very popular spot with locals and tourists. Hirome Market consists of seven blocks, including the castle square and Ryoma Street, and has many shops such as fresh fish shops, butcher shops, restaurants, miscellaneous goods and clothing stores. Tables and chairs are lined up everywhere, and like a food court, you buy what you like at each shop and bring it to eat. The staff will come to collect the dishes after you've finished eating. I went there around 6 p.m. on a weekday, but it was full and it took about 30 minutes to secure a seat. Since you sit wherever there is an empty seat, if you go with a small group, you will have to share a table. A small but cool shrine located at the back of Katsurahama Beach in Kochi Prefecture. The view of Katsurahama from above is spectacular. Park in the Katsurahama Park parking lot (¥400) and climb the stairs to find the Ryoma statue. Go down the stairs from there to arrive at Katsurahama Beach, and the red area you see in the third picture is Umezumi Shrine⛩️. The torii gate and the sea go together really well, so it's definitely a great spot to take photos. It's a recommended place to visit if you come to Kochi Prefecture. This was my first time there, but personally I'd like to go again.

Katsurahama, one of Kochi Prefecture's scenic spots, is also home to Cape Ryuo, the statue of Ryoma Sakamoto, Katsurahama Aquarium, a wide sandy beach, and a walking path. The Katsurahama area opened in March 2023. When I visited (December 22nd) it was during the pre-opening period, but there was no trace of the past and everything had become a new and comfortable commercial facility. "Yabe" is a food stall that has been converted from a garage and is an essential restaurant for Kochi gourmet 🙋‍♂️ The menu here includes gyoza, oden, ramen, and alcohol!
