Walk into Forest to have a picnic in the natural market!
Do you sometimes want to escape from the noisy city and find a place to relax? And the forest is a healing paradise of nature, which can always bring tranquility and comfort. Let's take advantage of the Sensen forest season activities to walk into the forest and find happiness back!
"Sensen Forest Season" is hosted by Studio Hutan Hutan, and Sensen Forest is responsible for the curator in September. I have really quite fun and exciting on that days.
Hopefully the market will be back soon!

A Day at Pantai Bagan Lalang
One of the most popular place in Selangor is Pantai Bagan Lalang.
Location:
It is one hour drive from KL. Across Avani Sepang. It quiet and calm. The sunset is beatiful. You gonna love it.
Cleanliness:
The beach is clean. HOWEVER the facilities are poorly maintained. The public toilet is so bad. Lack of toilet and washing areas.
Camping:
You can put your tent there. But you need to come early. From 2pm and above, the place will be a bit crowded. It is hard to get space to put your tent.#beach #sunset ##camping ##campingtrip

Jugra Hill, Banting
Jugra Hill is located in Selangor, a historical town in Kuala Langat that exudes an old-world charm with its stately buildings, bridges and roads.
Back in the late 1800s, Jugra was the royal capital of Selangor; its well-preserved buildings are good examples of the artistry and grandeur of its glamorous past.
Today, Bukit Jugra or Jugra Hill is still very much a popular venue, albeit for different reasons. Its undulating terrain and scenic views make it an excellent spot for outdoor activities such as hiking and paragliding.

Selayang Hotspot: The Rainbow Stairs of Sri Shakti Dhevasthanam Temple
#malaysiatrip Often confused with the stairs of Batu Caves, the colorful stairs of the Sri Shakti Dhevasthanam Temple in #Selayang, #Malaysia, are one of the region’s most underrated and photogenic spiritual sites. A symbol of devotion and artistry, this temple offers a quieter, more serene alternative to the bustling Batu Caves — and yes, those multicolored steps are real and absolutely stunning.
📍 Where it’s located
The Sri Shakti Dhevasthanam Temple is located in Bukit Rotan, near Selayang in the state of Selangor. It’s around 45 minutes by car from central Kuala Lumpur. Grab and local taxis are available and affordable. You can also take a KTM Komuter train to Kuang or Rawang, followed by a short ride by Grab or local bus.
🏛️ What is it?
Built in 2013, this Hindu temple is one of the most intricately detailed and authentically South Indian-style temples outside of India. It is the only temple in the world that houses all 51 Shakti manifestations, carved meticulously into granite.
🌈 About the famous stairs
The rainbow staircase leads up to the main temple entrance and is not only a visual treat but also a symbolic ascent toward the divine. Each color is said to represent different chakras and elements of spiritual elevation. It’s less crowded than Batu Caves, so you can take photos peacefully and absorb the tranquil surroundings.
💰 Entrance
Free entry! No tickets are required, but donations are welcome. Modest clothing is expected — cover your knees and shoulders. Shoes must be removed at the entrance.
🕘 Opening hours
Open daily from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM, but the best time to visit is early in the morning or around sunset for perfect lighting.
📖 What to see inside
• The 51 granite Shakti sculptures
• A Rajagopuram tower with over 5 million carvings
• Beautiful carved pillars and murals depicting epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata
• A peaceful courtyard perfect for quiet reflection
• Festivals like Navaratri or Thaipusam are celebrated here with vibrant energy
📸 Best photo spots
• The rainbow staircase from the bottom angle for full symmetry
• The temple’s golden dome framed by the steps
• Carved elephants and deity statues around the entrance
• Inside the main sanctum, with warm, glowing lamps and detailed architecture
🛍️ Nearby
• Local vegetarian Indian eateries within 5–10 minutes
• A small souvenir stand with incense, religious artifacts, and offerings
• Combine the visit with nearby Rawang’s waterfalls or a relaxing hike in Taman Rimba Komanwel 🌳

Hungry, Hungry Hippos at Paya Indah Wetlands!
Catch the action at Kolam Hippo during feeding time — a highlight at Paya Indah Wetlands that’s both thrilling and educational! Watch as massive hippopotamuses wade through the water and chomp down their meals with jaw-dropping strength. It’s a rare chance to get up close (safely!) with these gentle giants in a semi-wild habitat. The rangers provide fun facts as they feed, making it a hit for families, nature lovers, and photography buffs alike. Pantai Bagan Lalang
#summervacay
Pantai Bagan Lalang (Bagan Lalang Beach) is a popular coastal retreat located in the Sepang District of Selangor, around an hour’s drive south of Kuala Lumpur and close to KLIA and the Sepang International Circuit .The beach is wide and sandy but tends to be muddy and brownish, particularly during low tide. It's calm and peaceful—best suited for strolling, picnicking, or kites rather than serious swimming. On weekends, the beach becomes lively with families, campers, and BBQ groups. Weekdays bring the most serene experience. Some reviewers express concern over litter, monkeys rummaging bins, and basic facilities .

A Day in Sepang: Local Eats, Beach Sunset & Magical Fireflies
If you only have one day in Sepang, here’s a perfect itinerary that mixes local culture, nature, and a touch of magic. Sepang isn’t just about the F1 circuit — it’s also a charming region full of village charm, coastal views, and tropical night surprises. Here’s how we spent our day from sunrise to firefly-lit evening.
🥢 1. Morning: Breakfast & Stroll in Sungai Pelek Town
We started our day early in Sungai Pelek, a quaint riverside town about 15 minutes from KLIA. This place feels like time has slowed down — wooden shophouses, locals sipping kopi-o at kopitiams, and old-school markets filled with fresh produce and handmade pau.
We had a traditional breakfast of kaya toast and half-boiled eggs at a corner coffee shop — super satisfying. If you enjoy photography, the faded murals and vintage storefronts make perfect backdrops.
🏎️ 2. Midday: Visit the Sepang International Circuit
Next, we made our way to the Sepang International Circuit. Even if there’s no major event, the track tour is worth it. We visited the grandstand and peeked into the media and control rooms. Racing fans can book a simulator session or even catch locals testing cars on the track. The size and speed history of the place is seriously impressive.
🛍️ 3. Afternoon: Lunch & Shopping at Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA
By mid-afternoon, we headed to Mitsui Outlet Park, just 10 minutes away from the circuit. This place has everything from fashion to cosmetics, but we went straight for the food court! You’ll find Malaysian classics, Japanese snacks, and great coffee — all in a well-air-conditioned space (much needed after being under the sun).
Pro tip: check the promo booths — we scored discounted F&B vouchers.
🌅 4. Evening: Beach Sunset & Fireflies at Bagan Lalang
Before sunset, we arrived at Bagan Lalang Beach, about 30 minutes from Mitsui. The vibe here is chill — families flying kites, couples walking barefoot on the sand, kids building castles. You can grab grilled seafood from stalls nearby while watching the sky turn gold.
Once the sun sets, join a firefly boat cruise on the nearby Sungai Sepang river. It’s a surreal experience — gliding through the dark, with glowing dots lighting up the mangrove trees. It honestly felt like stepping into a fairytale.
🧭 Final Thoughts
This day trip showed us how Sepang offers way more than just an airport stopover. From old towns and race tracks to outlet deals and glowing mangroves — it’s full of surprises. Definitely worth staying a day (or more) next time you fly through KLIA!

Pantai Bagan Lalang, Sepang is Stunning🌼🌹
#sepangitinerary
The seaside an hour away from KL is truly amazing!
For my birthday, I wanted to have a beach picnic and spontaneously invited my friends to join me We found this place called Pantai Bagan Lalang 🌊 in Sepang. The beach is relatively clean and not too crowded. We went there for the sunset [] By around 6 PM, we could already see the sunset. During this golden hour, we took lots of photos and checked in, it was truly beautiful! 💛 The sunset by the sea is so romantic, and the sea breeze is really soothing. By about 7 PM, the sun had started to set and the sky began to darken. Remember not to be too late if you want to see the sunset! I was very happy to have the experience of celebrating my birthday and having a picnic by the sea! 💯
📍Pantai Bagan Lalang, Sepang
* Across the sea, there are also pasar malam and seafood restaurants, and the food tastes pretty good 👍🏻
