In December 2021, I stayed at a super luxury hotel right in front of Lake Geneva during my trip to Lausanne, Switzerland. This hotel is patronized by the Emperor of Japan, leaders of various countries, VIPs, etc., so it is not a suitable hotel for an ordinary person like me lol Prices start from 50,000 yen per night and all rooms are suites with balconies. If you love sports and are interested in the history of Olympic games, the place definitely should be on the list of things to do, and it is also one of my favorite spots in Switzerland. I spent about 3-4 hours here, and thanks to the many interactive activities, my family had a lot of  fun, it well worth the time. We also had our lunch at the Tom café located on top of the museum where offers a great lake view and delicious food. Last week I went to Le Pointu, a coffee shop in the city center of Lausanne. It was the weekend, so the shop was quite busy and full of people. In addition, the walls of the store are covered with various paintings, adding an artistic atmosphere that makes people stop and appreciate it. I ordered a cappuccino (4.9CHF). The latte art on this cup of coffee was in the shape of a heart, which was very pretty. Every sip of coffee was full of foam and had a mellow taste, which was just enough to bring a little relaxation during a busy weekend. We booked this hotel because we have an early train ride to Milan from Lausanne the next day morning. The hotel is right opposite Lausanne train station, it is really convenient. The Metro station also just next to the hotel which is very convenient for us to visit the Lausanne town area. Hotel is small and have everything you need for a night stay. Room is not big. The cafe next to the lobby of the hotel offers great pastries.

Its long history furthermore provides a vantage point of spiritual and cultural significance. The Cathedral was constructed during the 12th and 13th centuries. In 1275, Pope Gregory X and Rudolf of Habsburg consecrated the cathedral. In 1536, it became a Protestant cathedral during the Reformation era. Pierre Viret, the first Reformer of Lausanne, has studied alongside John Calvin. Following the adoption of Protestantism, the formerly very ornate Cathedral suffered from Reformist iconoclasm. I have little understanding of the architectural and interior features of the Cathedral, but I did notice the beautiful windows with colorful panes. The decorated windows depict the “medieval view of the world arranged around the figure of God the creator.” The organ of the Lausanne Cathedral is itself worthy of a visit. A product of organ builder Fisk, an American company, the organ prides itself in 7,396 pipes, 5 keyboards and pedalboards, and 2 consoles. Four styles of organ building are present: French classical and symphonic, and German baroque and romantic. Giugiaro, the Italian designer known for Ferrari and Maserati cars, designed the case of this organ. The design symbolizes an angel with spread wings. As such, this organ is the first organ in the world that was designed. Last, but not least, the organ inaugurated in 2003, and the Cathedral holds concerts periodically. Twenty-five recitals coincide with the Christian calendar. Today, the City of Lausanne is perhaps the best known for the Lausanne Movement of 1974. It is a contemporary movement in world evangelization. Billy Graham initiated the first Congress.
