Queen’s Park in New Westminster is a true urban oasis—sprawling over 75 acres of beautifully maintained gardens, picnic spots, and recreational spaces. It’s the perfect retreat from city life, offering both peaceful nature walks and lively community events.
I spent a refreshing morning wandering through the Rose Garden, where vibrant blooms and fragrant scents instantly lifted my spirits. The park’s historic bandstand often hosts local music performances, adding a charming soundtrack to your visit.
Families love the playgrounds and duck ponds, while sports enthusiasts can enjoy the tennis courts and baseball diamonds. For a quiet moment, the serene paths shaded by towering trees invite reflective strolls or peaceful reading breaks.
One highlight is the Queen’s Park Arena, a hub for ice skating and hockey in winter, bringing the community together in spirited fun.
Visiting Queen’s Park felt like stepping into a timeless space where nature, recreation, and history blend seamlessly. It’s a must-visit whether you’re looking to relax, exercise, or connect with locals.
Best Time to Visit:
Spring through early fall when flowers bloom and outdoor activities are in full swing.
Travel Tips:
Pack a picnic and enjoy one of the many green lawns.

abandoned jail turned into restaurant!
if you're looking for a spooky stop, look no further! this historic building is sure to give you a scare. it was one of the best experiences I had while being in Cancouver for the weekend. new westminster is a historic city once known for being a central gub for British colonies. 4.5/5 as the food was good, but service could be a little more sophisticated/ efficient. thank you for having us. #haunted

The oldest town in the Greater Vancouver area - New Westminster Quay Park
Even locals or old overseas Chinese may not be very familiar with New Westminster. Firstly, it has lost the halo of its former status as the provincial capital, and secondly, it has been somewhat stigmatized due to the congregation of homeless people in previous years. In fact, in recent years, New Westminster has undergone tremendous changes, from demographic structure to the improvement of municipal facilities, with two SkyTrain lines now intersecting here. With the convenience of transportation comes the growth of the population, and with the growth of the population comes the enhancement of service facilities. Coming to the park by the Fraser River in New Westminster on the weekend and taking a pleasant walk, the memory of the past shabbiness is swept away, and it's worth recording this remarkable transformation.

Which trampoline company is the best in Vancouver?
The trampoline hall is very large and is divided into several small sections. You can experience the fun of trampoline in many ways. It is very suitable for children and adults who love to play. The hall will change the white woven lights to disco lights every once in a while, which is both sporty and carnival. If you like rock climbing and challenge your fear of heights, you can go to the rock climbing area next to it. It is definitely an indoor activity worth going to~

The boardwalk at the quay—worth walking
Well worth the walk along this boardwalk! Lots of seasonal flowers and the hanging baskets are stunning. There’s restaurants and other shopping at the River Market just nearby, and 1.5km approx. of boardwalk and path to walk. A playground half way along for the kids, and a dog park all the way at the end, for your canines to get some off leash exercise and socializing. Just across the bridge after the boardwalk area is a fantastic brewery, Steel & Oak (well worth a visit). #NewWest #Boardwalk #Quay
