2025 Quan Ba District Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in March)

#wecreate Hello everyone, today I want to tell you about my awesome visit to the Quan Ba Heaven Gate, a stunning and scenic spot in Vietnam. I visited this place last year during a few days scooter trip. The Quan Ba Heaven Gate is located in the Quan Ba District, in the Ha Giang Province. It’s a mountain pass that offers a spectacular view of the Quan Ba Valley and the Twin Mountains. To get there, I rented a scooter from Ha Giang City and drove for about 45 kilometers. The drive was fun and adventurous, with many curves and slopes. The scenery was also breathtaking, with green hills, rice terraces, and colorful flowers. When I arrived at the Quan Ba Heaven Gate, I was greeted by a sign that said “Welcome to Heaven”. I felt like I had entered a paradise. I parked my scooter and walked to the viewpoint, where I saw the Quan Ba Valley and the Twin Mountains. The valley was like a painting, with green fields, blue rivers, and white clouds. The Twin Mountains were like two breasts, rising from the valley. They were also called the Fairy Mountains, because of a legend that said they were formed by the breasts of a fairy who fell in love with a mortal. I was mesmerized by the view and took many photos. I also had a coffee at Yen Ngoc, a small cafe near the viewpoint. The coffee was delicious and the staff was friendly. I enjoyed the coffee and the view at the same time. Day 4 of motorbiking through Northern Vietnam with peeps I only met a few days prior: We made it!! The first 2 hour stretch was the most dangerous by far - unpaved roads, super rocky patches I struggled to get through, and this crazy bridge that was literally just wooden planks tied together and suspended over a river (with some gaps from missing planks no less). To top it all off we did this in pouring rain (at one point I fell into a ditch bc there was so much water in it I couldn’t tell it was more than just a shallow puddle) and blinding fog. 🥴🥴 I crashed more times than I can count due to sheer exhaustion and honestly didn’t know if I’d make it to the end BUT ya girl did it!!! I just wanna reiterate that the Ha Giang loop is worth it but it *definitely* is dangerous. Northern Vietnam is ideal for a motorbike trip, especially in Ha Giang. This province offers one of the most thrilling and scenic adventures we’ve ever experienced. With its rugged mountains, winding roads, and stunning terraced rice fields, Ha Giang truly has it all. Ha Giang is beautiful year-round, particularly in early spring (when the flowers bloom!) and mid-autumn (with golden rice fields). Though we couldn’t visit during the peak season, the roads were still breathtaking. Recommended highlights: Quan Ba Heaven Gate & Twin Mountains, Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, Lung Cu Flag Tower, Ma Pi Leng Pass, Hoang Su Phi Rice Terraces, and Meo Vac. How to get there: The most common way is to take a bus to Ha Giang City, where you can rent a motorbike. (Some rent bikes from Hanoi, but that makes the trip too long!) #motortravel

I learned a lot about this Geopark from the sign board, it's such an interesting and diverse place worthy of UNESCO's acknowledgment. There's also a cafe to get drinks and take a rest before exploring the rest of the loop.
