📍Mirabell Gardens: Mirabellplatz 3, 5020 Salzburg, Austria 🎫 Free admission ✅It was built by Archduke Wolf Dietrich in 1606 and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is said to mean breathtaking beauty, a compound word of the Italian word mirabile, meaning 'wonderful', and bella, meaning beautiful. 👉I really wanted to visit this place because it was the filming location for The Sound of Music. In the movie, they filmed a scene where Maria and the children danced and sang Do-Re-Mi around the Pegasus fountain in front of the palace. #EuropeTravel

I went to Salzburg to visit the holy sites of Sound of Music. Mirabell Palace, which appeared in the Do-Re-Mi song, is located here, overlooking Fortress Hohensalzburg. I have such strong feelings when I think that Julie and Charmian actually visited this place. There were tourists jumping up and down the stairs of Mirabell Palace just like in the movie, and I think that even after 60 years, it is still loved by people all over the world. The benches in the courtyard of Mirabell Palace were also comfortable, and I spent some time relaxing with some juice I bought at the supermarket. Access to Salzburg Airport is also good. It is also a small airport, so it is easy to use and you won't get lost.

The 57-day European trip that I had left alone without fear was coming to an end. I wanted to see nature, so I went to Salzburg and Hallstatt, my last travel destinations, and encountered the scenery I had been dreaming of,🫧 The snow covered in pure white and the full moon shining exceptionally brightly, Hallstatt with snow falling and wooden houses on the green fields. I didn't even know how the 6 hours from Prague to Salzburg and the 3 hours from Salzburg to Hallstatt passed, and I wanted to remember vividly for a long time, from the scenery I saw while moving to the scenery I encountered upon arrival, The time I spent in Europe was also a trip during the moving process:) It must be even prettier now that it's all green-?🍃💚 So I'm going to go back in September to capture the nature of Europe for a month! Salzburg is an Austrian city on the border of Germany, with views of the Eastern Alps. It is the birthplace of famed composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and is dominated by churches, castles, and palaces. Its picturesque old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is divided by the Salzach River, with medieval and baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old City) on its left bank, facing the 19th-century Neustadt (New City) on its right. Must-Sees in Salzburg is Hohensalzburg Fortress, Salzburg's landmark, Central Europe’s largest intact fortress and offers fantastic views of the city. Also a must see is Mozart's Geburtshaus, the place where the genial composer was born on January 27, 1756. South of Salzburg’s old town is the popular Hellbrunn Castle with the world-famous 'Wasserspiele' containing many ingenious trick fountains and water-powered figures. The Trapp family and The Sound of Music is inseparably linked with Salzburg. The famous gazebo can be found in the gardens of Hellbrunn Castle. It was used for both Maria and Georg's romantic love scene and the duet “Sixteen Going On Seventeen”. Salzburg is really such a gorgeous city well worth spending at least 3-4 days in order to explore all the attractions.

After my business trip to Germany, I went over to Salzburg Austria with my wife, colleague and a friend. I chose to book FourSide Hotel through Trip as it has many good reviews. We took the bus from the main station to the hotel. The surrounding was peaceful. When we went inside the hotel, we were captivated by the ambience. We were pleased with our room too as it was very comfortable. Finally, I wanna give a shoutout to the staff and bartender as they were very friendly and helpful.

It was always a wondering feeling when you travel to Europe as you can get to witness many beautiful historical structures. That's how I felt when we went to explore Schloss Mirabell when we travelled to Salzburg. The palace was built in 1606 and thus have a very rich history. We admired the majestic structure. The palace also have a beautiful park and the winter made the experience even greater.

St Sebastian's Cemetery is slightly smaller than St Peter's and opposite the river from the old town, but we quite enjoyed our time here as this place is more tranquil and less touristy than St Peter's. The most notable tombstone here belongs to the Mozart family (Wolfgang Mozart himself is buried in Vienna though), but it's still quite the experience to look through the different tombstones and note their design and age. Marvellous and rather creepy gothic cemetery tucked away behind St Sebastian's church. The entrance is a little hard to find. You go down the road below the church and turn in through a gateway effectively behind the church. There are some wonderful statues and gravestones. In the centre of the cemetery is the tomb of Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich.

After seeing the Hohensalzburg Fortress, we walked directly over the hill and through small woods to the Möchsberg. The route with all sights takes about 1.5 hours. Numerous viewpoints lead to the Stadtalm, a small restaurant on the right side of the mountain in the direction of the old town. Then keep right and you end up directly at the Museum der Moderne and the Mönchsberg elevator, which we used to go back down. Very nice destination, even if the museums are closed. Great for a long walk. With its park, the fortresses, old walls and and and it's great to walk. And you are right next to the castle and can explore it at the same time. You also have a different great panorama from every corner, either the city or the mountains, just great. You can also find inns and snack bars here and there. I would absolutely recommend the Salzburg card. You have all entrances, elevators, castle railway with it.

It is always nice to walk in the footsteps of giants like the Mozart family. The place provided a very good audio book that walks you through the house and there is alot of history to be found there. Overall its a nice place to visit once in your life, even though it feels kinda empty and would have been nicer if it had more pieces that made it feel like a home and shows how they lived their life, especially for the price. Very well managed museum. I liked the fact that the curators did not overwhelm us with too much information and kept it an adequately manageable experience for music lovers and practitioners alike. Residenzplatz is a large, stately public square in the old town of Salzburg and also the largest square in the old town. There's some really beautiful buildings surrounding the square such as Residenzgalerie Residenz Palace, the Glockenspiel and Salzburg Cathedral. At the centre of the square is the Residenz Fountain. Plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes around the square as well. Architecture that will leave you stunned. Majestic art, paintings and ornaments. There is absolutely nothing to complain about it. And a very important tip for people travelling around on a budget. IT IS FREE. But please, leave some spare change or make a good donation as the place is really well looked after. You'll find graves of archbishops from the city close to the front of the cathedral and more downstairs.
