Below are the itinerary of mine including the historical sites and natural beauty: Day 1: - Begin the day to explore the UNESCO heritage old town from the Mirabell Palace - Shooting place of the movie: Sound of Music. - Passing by the birthplace of Mozarts, walk to the Makartsteg bridge to overlook the old town view with the river along, and continue to satiate your shopping desire in the Getreidegasse street surrounded by Baroque architectures. Do not miss out the Mozart house nearby as well. - During the sunset time, take the furnicular ride up to the Salzburg fortress or hike up by walking to enjoy the panoramic city view or catch the pictures with the sunset here. Day 2: - Take a day trip to the Hallstatt and enjoy at least a half day there for the natural beauty: Transportation: * Salzburg takes bus 150 (Platform F) to bad ischl (1.5 hrs) * from bad ischl takes bus 542/543 to Gosaumuhle (20 min) * From Gosaumuhle takes bus to Hallstatt Lahn (5 min) Day 3: - Have a wonderful breakfast in Gustav and depart to the new destination. H+ Hotel Salzburg, a four-star business hotel in Salzburg, offers great value for money. Conveniently located right next to the train station, you can easily drop off your luggage and start exploring. There's also a shopping mall nearby, making it super convenient! The hotel features a modern glass facade building with excellent views. You can enjoy stunning vistas of the distant mountains and fortress while dining in the restaurant, thanks to the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The room we stayed in had a comfortable double bed and a standard business layout, covering 24 square meters. The design is simple and natural with wooden furniture and shelves. The rate includes breakfast and costs €100, which is quite reasonable. Salzburg is bisected by a river, with famous attractions on both sides that are easily accessible on foot. It's a very pleasant place to explore and definitely worth a visit.

#JanuaryGoodPlaces2025 During the trip to Eastern Europe, we took a train from Vienna to Salzburg and stayed at a local family hotel "Hotel Hohenstauffen". Although the hotel building is old, it is decorated very warmly with a retro and strong Bohemian style. It takes you back to the atmosphere of medieval Europe in a second. The experience of staying there is very special. The front desk is a classic wooden table. The craftsmanship presented by the meticulous carving is amazing. The heavy metal keys are very substantial. It has been a long time since I have used a key other than a room card. The boss is very friendly, just like the aunt next door, welcoming guests to her home. Each room at Hotel Hohenstauffen is decorated differently, with wallpapers with small florals, retro bed frames, and antique wooden furniture, giving it a very nostalgic feel. Three people booked a single room and a twin room, which were about 4.5-6 square meters in size, for a total of €189. The room rate includes breakfast. The family-style breakfast is quite rich and delicious, and very warm. It includes bread, ham, cantaloupe, cheese, etc. Milk and juice are of course indispensable. The overall taste is much better than that of general modern chain hotels. The hotel is very close to Salzburg Railway Station, only a 10-minute walk away. To reach major scenic spots, you just need to cross a river. The scenery along the way is beautiful. The scene where the von Trapp family escapes the Nazi's arrest to Switzerland was also being film there. The highest peak is at Berchtesgaden Hockthorn at 1973 meters. It spans between Berchtesgaden in the Germany and Salzburg at the Austria. The trails are very smooth and easy to hike and climb and there are stairways and roads, so you do not need a lot of assistance to ascend. A very nice hiking experience indeed.
