🏰 1. Fairytale-like appearance - The real inspiration for Snow White
This castle, standing tall on the hill of Segovia, is known as the actual model that inspired the design of Disney's Snow White Cathedral.
The towering towers, the grandeur of the medieval fortress, and the stone towers on the walls are just like a "fairytale castle", making you stop in your tracks.

🏛️ 2. Long history & royal weight
It was originally rooted in a 12th-century Islamic fortress, and in the 15th century, it was used as the main palace of the Castilian royal family.
In 1474, Queen Isabella announced her golden age here, and inside, traces of the palace, such as the throne room, armory, and the king's room, remain intact.
⸻
🔭 3. Panoramic Views & Gardens
When you climb up the high tower, you will have a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire old city of Segovia, the Roman aqueduct, and the surrounding forests.
Below the castle is the beautiful Garden Huerta del Rey, which was created during the Royal Artillery School era. .

🌟 4. Balance between Disney style and reality
While Disney exaggerated the towers and spires, the original castle is a more practical medieval fortress.
Nevertheless, the ornate tower design and the towering natural backdrop give the impression that “this is the castle where Snow White would have lived.”
