Jang Hang
Jang Hang Urban Exploration Station
I had imagined Jang Hang Station, but when I actually saw it, it was much more hip than I had imagined. They say that Jang Hang Cargo Station was remodeled into a complex public space with convenient facilities such as the Jang Hang Story Museum, Urban Exploration Cafe, Children's Lounge, Urban Exploration Observatory, and Urban Exploration Bicycle Rental, as well as experiential content. That's why its exterior is so pretty and unique, right?
The Jang Hang Branch Office, which was the Joseon Governor-General's Grain Inspection Office, was one of the grain inspection offices established nationwide to export high-quality grains plundered from Joseon to Japan, and strictly managed capacity, weight, and quality. When traveling domestically, I think I come across the painful history of the Japanese colonial period here and there. Jang Hang Station was built in August 1931, long before I was born, to efficiently transport rice plundered by the Japanese from Chungcheong, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon regions to Japan by concentrating it at Jang Hang Port. It is now used as a place to preserve the history and tell the history of Janghang.
Janghang Urban Exploration Station is a place where you can learn about the history of Janghang. There are fun events, so you can walk around the alleys of Janghang with a guide, find gold bars, and hear historical stories. The unique building is really pretty, isn't it?
