Iwaki covered in snow as the backdrop! ❄️🏔️🌸 📍 Second Stop: Fujimi Tsurunomai Bridge 🌸🌉 Full bloom magic! 🌸💖 We caught the perfect shot with the Tsurunomai Bridge, cherry blossoms, a serene lake, and snowcapped mountains all in one frame — absolutely stunning! 🏞️✨ 📍 Third Stop: Ashino Park 🌸🚂 One of Aomori’s most famous sakura spots — and it didn’t disappoint! 🌸🌸 The cherry blossom tunnel with the cute little sakura train running underneath is iconic! 🚂🌸 (P.S. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like you’ve stepped into a Studio Ghibli movie, Takayama Inari Shrine in Aomori is your golden ticket. I stumbled into this magical spot on a cloudy morning — a little off the beaten path, but 100% worth the detour. The first thing that hit me wasn’t the view — it was the vibe. Quiet, misty, and totally peaceful, like nature was whispering. There was a faint earthy scent — moss, wet leaves, and that clean temple incense floating in the air. No cheese this time, but the spiritual aroma was kind of calming in its own way. Then came the torii gates — and not just one or two. We’re talking a long, winding trail of vibrant red gates twisting through the forest. Walking through them felt almost dreamlike. I half-expected a fox spirit to pop out and give me a quest. Funny moment? I was trying to take a dramatic slow-mo video walking through the gates… until I tripped over a sneaky root and nearly face-planted into a stone lantern. Smooth, I know. A nearby cat just stared at me like I’d dishonored its ancestors. Oh, and yes — fox statues everywhere. Some serious, some cute, all watching you with those mysterious “I know things” eyes. They’re protectors of the shrine, but I swear one looked like it was judging my fashion choices. Tips for fellow wanderers: • Wear comfy shoes — it’s a forest path, not a fashion runway. • Bring a jacket — the air’s cooler up there, even in spring. • Be quiet and respectful — it’s a sacred spot, not a TikTok set. • Go in the morning — fewer crowds and way better lighting for your photos. Walking through what felt like an endless number of Tori gates is quite cool! It feels like Fushimi-Inari in Kyoto but minus the crowd~ This is Takayama Inari shrine situated in Tsugaru, Aomori prefecture. In order to get there you can take JR train to Goshogawara station and take a 45 minutes bus ride to Takayama Inari Jinja Iriguchi station. Alternatively, you can just rent a car and drive there 😊 I would suggest to not go during the summer as the ponds tend to dry up during the season 🥺
