I've come to see the Huangguoshu Waterfall from my textbook
It is currently the off-season, which is the dry season. It is expected that the water volume will be larger and more abundant during the high-water season in June and July.
Cost: The entrance ticket is CNY 210, plus CNY 30 for the one-way escalator to the Great Waterfall, for a total of CNY 240. The scenic shuttle bus is included in the CNY 210 ticket.
It's not crowded, and the scenic area is well-designed. There are shuttle buses at the entrances of the three scenic spots that can freely shuttle you to the Great Waterfall, the Tianxing Bridge, and the Dipo Pond, all with seats.
Route and time suggestions:
Great Waterfall: 2 hours; Tianxing Bridge (lower section): 1.5 to 2 hours; Dipo Pond: 1 hour.
Go to the Great Waterfall first. After entering, stroll downhill. It takes only seven or eight minutes to reach the Huangguoshu Waterfall! Take photos and climb for 10 minutes to the Water Curtain Cave directly behind the Great Waterfall and pass through it. You need to prepare a raincoat, which is sold at the entrance of the scenic spot for CNY 2. Then walk across the suspension bridge. It is recommended to buy the escalator for CNY 30 to return to the entrance of the scenic spot, save your energy, and then take the shuttle bus to Tianxing Bridge. It takes about 2 hours, and if you are in good physical condition, you can take a 360-degree tour of the Great Waterfall and take many photos.
Tianxing Bridge: We only walked the lower section, which took one and a half hours. Many attractions were impressive, especially the stalactites in the Tianxing Cave, which were simply stunning! The super-large cave is full of strangely shaped stalactites. Then walk for about fifteen minutes to the Silver Chain Waterfall. Going back requires climbing a mountain for about 20 minutes to take the shuttle bus. The cable car costs CNY 10, but it is still being upgraded. It's a bit tiring, but fortunately not far. We walked, rested, and took photos, which took nearly 2 hours in total.
Dipo Pond: It's super easy. It only took 50 minutes to take ten thousand photos and walk back! Easily check in at the waterfall scene at the beginning of the Journey to the West theme song.
In addition to the natural gifts, I feel that Guizhou Wenlu has really put a lot of effort into providing services, and many details are really in place!
For example, the shuttle buses are very new and clean, there are many clean toilets with toilet paper in the scenic area, there are many benches and short stools for resting in the scenic area, and the prices in the scenic area are not outrageous. Mineral water costs CNY 3 at the entrance and CNY 5 at the innermost part, roasted sausages are CNY 10 for 3, and peeled sugar cane is CNY 5 a bag. It's very pleasant to eat and stroll along the way! By the way, I also saw free hot water and even warm water in the toilet at the entrance! There are also bracelets sold by the elderly for CNY 5, and the prices are easily acceptable. They don't raise prices just because it's a scenic spot, which makes me have a very good impression of Guizhou. There are also many brand-name restaurants, including McDonald's, Dicos, Shanghai Auntie, Coco Milk Tea, and Wallace, so you don't have to worry about food. I didn't even finish the bread I brought.
After getting off the high-speed train in Anshun, there are buses to and from the Huangguoshu Scenic Area for CNY 22 per person, which takes 35 to 40 minutes.
