Both options were amazing so we stayed in both LOL. The tents are very spacious and clean. The staff are friendly and offers a great service. Breakfast is included and not bad for the average price of the hotel. Zhongwei is a prefecture-level city of Ningxia province. The city is known for its wolfberry and Gobi watermelon cultivation. It is a desert 🏜 area with lots of sand dunes as you can see in the pictures. The hotel we stayed was a tend in the middle of the dessert but also there is a train which was converted in hotel rooms. this place is One of the world's largest photovoltaic power station, Tengger Desert Solar Park, is located in Zhongwei as well. you can also visit Sunflower 🌻 plantations and enjoy the landscape with lots of hills. Get to Zhongwei, Ningxia province China it is accessible by high- speed rail from Yinchuan or by air. The Air transport can be limited to some cities, Then find a taxi to Shapotou desert this takes up to 30 minutes. They is a desert and a whole lot of fun like riding the quad bike in the sand dunes. You can also take a ride on the back of a camel as you retrace the ancient Silk Road. Enjoy the desert accommodation by trying out the awesome tents in which you can book easily. The tents are very nice and comfortable and are suitable for couple as well as families Food & Restaurants - the cuisine in here is that of Northern China which has good delicious lamb. Shopping - it’s not an ideal place for shopping 😅

Getting There - take a bus from the train station and drop off anywhere in town. get a taxi to take you to the place .we used a taxi because its a bit out of zhongwei . when you get to the place they help you to get to the activity site with their own cars it was a pretty amazing ride ,the cars are so big and they thrill you up with speed in the desert . Attractions - desert, small lakes camel rides quad cars bornfire and fireworks in the evening , bbq spots Hotels - plenty tent and cabins available on site . you can book in advance on trip.com Food & Restaurants - mainly chinese food breakfast provided and at times free food. its better to bring own food if you are selective Shopping - apparently its a desert so no shopping around only place you can do shopping is in the city centre #dessert#summervacation#hotelstay

Took a trip out of the city to see China's northwest! Great way to spend the New Year holiday. Recommendations: 1. Desert Star Hotel (沙漠星星) it's about two hours from Yinchuan airport by high-speed rail and then taxi. Great sunrise views over the sand dunes! 2. Xipo Hostel in Shapotou. It has a very old west Americana vibe with an awesome little community. Also you can see parts of the old Great Wall 3. Route 66 … a 1km stretch of road that is very "instagrammable". Really only for the pictures, you can skip if it's not your thing. #newyearstrip #ningxia

Incredible place where the Great Wall meets the yellow river in Ningxia Province in China. Another opportunity to see an unforgettable landscape. It is easy to spend hours here just looking the horizon.
