Towers and Walls of Aigues-Mortes 🏰

#2024wish I just came back from a visit to the Towers and Walls of Aigues-Mortes – what an ancient treasure. 🏰🇫🇷 The ticket cost about €8, which is virtually nothing for such a trip into the past among these gothic marvels. 🎟️🕰️ You step in and feel like you are walking into the gates of a fairy tale fortress. The walls are so well-preserved; you can almost smell the medieval atmosphere. The views from the towers are great – miles of red rooftops against a royal blue skies. 🏞️🔭 The most unexpected moment was the Constance Tower, and it is absolutely worth climbing for a bird’s eye view of Aigues-Mortes and its surrounding salt flats. And for those interested in history, the Church of Notre-Dame-des Sablons nearby is a must visit. ⛪️🔍 I spent the whole day strolling through cobblestone olden streets, cozying up in cute cafes – total medieval charm! ✨🍃 #aiguesmortesadventures #medievalmarvels #travelbackintime
