I took a walk around Nanukamachi Street, a historic street that you can't miss when you come to Aizuwakamatsu 🌟 During the feudal era, Nanukamachi Street was an important street in the castle town, serving as the main road through Echigo, Yonezawa, and Shimotsuke, one of the five main roads in Aizu, and was the busiest shopping district in Aizu from the Edo period to the Showa period. On both sides of the road, there are storehouses and Western-style buildings built during the Meiji, Taisho, and early Showa periods, creating a nostalgic atmosphere.
