I finally left Northern Europe where the temperature was minus five degrees Celsius every day. I took a flight to Amsterdam, the Netherlands early in the morning, and the temperature instantly rose to 13 degrees. After staying in Northern Europe for a month, 13 degrees is really a warm number. The train ride from Amsterdam Airport to the city center takes about 20 minutes and the ticket price is about 4.9 euros (you can enter the station by swiping your card at the machine. In Europe, only the Netherlands has facilities for swiping cards in and out). As soon as you get off the station and walk forward you will see the famous city of Amsterdam. There are canals everywhere, and lively and unique shops everywhere. The famous foods here include apple pie, cheese, fish and chips, etc., but you can also try something new. The fries here are pretty good, but the closer you get to the city center, the more expensive they are. We also ate at an ice cream shop called Van der Linde here, and the price was about 1.7 Euros. The ice cream tastes like frozen whipped cream. Maybe some people really like it, after all, there are so many people queuing up. As for cheese, there are really many choices in the Netherlands. Cheese is sold everywhere in the city, which is very suitable for cheese lovers to taste it here.
