[Sukayu Onsen] The Retro Sennin-buro Bath

At the foot of Mt. Hakkoda, Sukayu Onsen is famous for its huge bath that can fit a thousand people. It is a mixed bath, so women can rent a one-piece dress called a knitted dress for 500 yen. There is a blindfold until halfway through, and the water is milky white, so you just soak in it, so you might not need the knitted dress (although we rented one). There are also one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening that are reserved for women only. There is no washing area in the Sennin-buro because the soap does not lather due to the ingredients, but there are washing areas in the indoor baths separated by gender.
