Cruise on the Mogami River, Japan

The Mogami River is a significant river in Yamagata Prefecture. Yamagata Prefecture is located in the western part of the Tohoku region and is known for its abundant natural beauty and stunning scenery. We visited during winter when the riverbanks are covered in thick snow, but you can still enjoy a scenic boat ride. The cost of the boat ride is approximately 3000 yen. Travel Information Take a train from Yamagata Station. You can either take the Shinkansen (45 minutes) or a regular train (80 minutes) to Shinjo Station. Once you arrive at Shinjo, transfer to the JR RikuuSai Line and get off at Furukuchi Station (20 minutes). From Furukuchi Station, it's about a 5-minute walk to the pier.
