A Day Trip to Van Gogh's Village: Auvers-sur-Oise! 🎨🌿

#summervacay Thinking of a peaceful escape from Paris? You absolutely have to visit Auvers-sur-Oise, famously known as Van Gogh's village! Getting there is pretty straightforward: From Gare du Nord, take the train towards Pontoise (Line H). Get off at Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, and then transfer to another train towards Creil (Line H) directly to Auvers-sur-Oise. It's a lovely journey! 🚆 This charming village holds immense historical significance for art lovers. Van Gogh arrived in Auvers-sur-Oise on May 20, 1890. In an incredible burst of creativity, he painted 74 oil paintings and countless drawings over the next seventy days! Sadly, his time there ended tragically when he was wounded in a field on July 27, 1890, and passed away two days later. Since Van Gogh arrived in May, I decided to visit in May myself to experience the village as he might have seen it. It was absolutely beautiful with roses and climbing roses everywhere, and the wheat fields were a vibrant green!
