A French secret place 🇫🇷hidden on the D66 road in the Pyrenees: We found the wild stream hot spring! I have always had a small dream, which is to find a hidden wild stream hot spring in Europe. We didn't expect to encounter it during our trip to the French Pyrenees! This secret place is hidden near the La Têt River Valley. While driving along the D66 road, we decided to explore an old tunnel called "Ancien tunnel routier". At first we took a less obvious path that meandered down to the bottom of the valley, and the feeling of adventure grew more and more as we walked. Finally, we found the first hot spring in the valley. It really looks like a natural hot spring! However... when we got closer, there was a lot of white seaweed floating in the water. The whole thing looked a bit like miso soup with tofu dregs (a bit exaggerated but you know the picture). It didn't look very clean. After thinking about it, we decided to give up this pool and go back to where we parked. Just when we were feeling a little disappointed, we noticed that everyone else seemed to be walking in the opposite direction of us! Driven by curiosity, we decided to change the route and continue forward. Because this section is on the road, we have to be extremely careful when there are cars coming from the left and right. After all, the mountain roads in France are winding and narrow, but we just explored deeper into the mountains step by step. Finally, after walking for about ten minutes, we arrived at the second hot spring spot: "Cabane de garde-barrière de Thuès-les-Bains". Wow~ This place is really beautiful like a fairyland. In addition to the hot springs, there is also a small waterfall next to it, and water pipes are floating in the air. The whole atmosphere is super relaxing! We immediately took off our shoes and soaked our feet. The mountain was quiet, with only the sound of water and birds singing in our ears. We instantly felt relaxed. The key point is that the water here is super clean and the temperature is just right, not hot but can drive away the chill, it's really enjoyable! Although this trip to the wild stream hot springs was a bit tortuous at the beginning, the rewards in the end were totally worth it. After about 10 minutes, we found a much better spot: Cabane de garde-barrière de Thuès-les-Bains. This hot spring was clean, warm, and surrounded by nature, with a small waterfall nearby. It felt peaceful and relaxing—totally worth the walk! If you visit, be sure to wear good shoes, stay safe on the road, and respect nature.
