Cordoba's Hidden Mountain City Town

Andalusia Tour ~ Cordoba (Region) The town is situated on a hillside, forming a network of narrow winding streets dotted with traditional houses and ancestral houses. It is surrounded by olive groves and wheat fields. The city's historic district is located on the higher side of the hill. Its monuments include the 16th-century Church of Santa María la Mayor (although some evidence suggests it dates back to the 13th century), the Madre de Dios Convent Church, built in 1510, and the ancient Alcazar Castle, built in the 9th century, with several gates leading into the walls.
