Barcelona is the most ideal place to learn about Picasso

#celebrateit Picasso spent arguably the most significant one-third of his life in Barcelona. And many of his works were given to his best friend living in Barcelona, which later was gifted to the museum. And the museum certainly did not waste any bit of the legacy left behind by the world known artist. In fact, Picasso Museum in Barcelona is so far the best autobiographical arts museum I’ve been to that detailed about a certain artist. In the museum, I learnt about how Picasso was scholarly trained, ie he was able to produced works that were in recognition of the mainstream standards, and how his style yet evolved into post-impressionist, cubism and eventually one of his kind—and of course, his dark period where he experienced the loss of his dear friend and a long period of depression. And for most parts of it, the seemingly casual work is never casual. Even the simplest work came with a handful of drafts, which speak volume about how he holds himself accountable of the work he produces.
