14th Century Gothic Church

A Journey Along Spain's Mediterranean Coast ~ Barcelona (Region) Standing on Pine Square (Placa del Pi) is the 14th-century Gothic Santa Maria del Pi Church, characterized by its simple lines and pure Catalan Gothic style. The massive facade is almost entirely vertical, with the only decoration being the stained glass rose window above the modestly adorned entrance, flanked by two octagonal towers. The church features a single nave and boasts a 54-meter-high octagonal bell tower with six bells, the largest weighing 1.8 tons.
