Lake Elizabeth

#australiatrip A must visit location for people who loves to bring their pets on an adventure. Short moderately challenging hike, but will be well rewarded with picturesque landscape. Lake Elizabeth is located deep in a beautiful part of the Otway Rangers, and I can highly recommend a day trip to visit the area. The carpark for Lake Elizabeth is a 7km’s drive out from the town of Forrest and the walking trail from the carpark to Lake Elizabeth is a short 1km walk through a tall eucalypt forest with dense fern gullies. When you reach the lake, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view overlooking a pristine lake punctuated by the trucks of dead trees and surrounded by a lush forest. On the day that we were there, we could see a platypus swimming in the middle of the lake.
