1️⃣ Location Located between Xuanwumen and Caishikou, there is a shopping mall nearby, and the attractions within the Second Ring Road are also very close. Highly recommend visiting Taoranting and the Temple of Heaven nearby on summer nights, ticket checking stops around nine o'clock. 2️⃣ Room and Service Apart from the relatively new bathroom, the rest is somewhat old, which is a common issue with other Marriott hotels in Beijing. The corner room is quite spacious, offering a distant view of the Forbidden City, Jingshan, and CBD, but the nearby construction sites are a bit of an eyesore. The quality of slippers and bathrobes is good, there are welcome fruits, turndown service, proactive and timely garbage cleaning, and the room service response speed is also very fast. 3️⃣ Pool and Gym: The pool environment is very good, although there is no high-altitude view, it is quiet with few people, equipped with a bubble pool, sauna, etc.; the gym has a nice view, overlooking the old hutongs of Beijing, which is very characteristic. The pool and gym feel like my personal favorite parts. 4️⃣ Executive Lounge: The lounge is standard, with few afternoon tea desserts, but the croissant sandwich is a plus. The hot food during HH is average, but there are many more desserts than during afternoon tea, and they taste good. There is no bartending service. Overall, the lounges in IHG in Beijing are still better than Marriott. 5️⃣ Breakfast The egg and noodle stations are good, the fruits are very fresh, and the pancakes are also nice. Overall, in this level of hotel in Beijing, the cost performance is still relatively high, and being close to the South Station is also very friendly to business travelers.
