The former owner of the house was Ling Shuhua, the maternal grandmother of Qin Siyuan. Later, Ling Shuhua's daughter, Ms. Chen Xiaoying, transferred the property rights of the house to the street for public welfare and established this hutong museum. Shijia Hutong Museum is the first hutong museum in Beijing. It has 130 miniature courtyards and you can hear more than 70 kinds of hutong sounds such as "shocking boudoir" and "tiger stretcher". In addition, Shijia Hutong is the cradle of Beijing People's Art Theatre. Since the North China People's Art Troupe was expanded and renamed as Beijing People's Art Theatre (Old People's Art) in 1950, No. 20, Shijia Hutong has become the cradle of Chinese drama. On June 12, 1952, the "Old People's Art" drama troupe officially established the Beijing People's Art Theatre in No. 20.
