Someone who doesn't understand opera has a special feeling for Peking opera. In the days without TV or the Internet, listening to opera was the most popular pastime for ordinary people, and it is also a childhood memory of mine. Even now, when I think of Peking opera, a picture always comes to my mind: an old man sitting in a recliner listening to opera, humming and swaying his body, completely immersed in the opera. The "Mei Yun Ni Shang" Mei Lanfang and Mei Baojiu Opera Costume Exhibition is like reliving the heyday of this national treasure. Accompanied by the melodious and clear Mei-style singing, you can open Mr. Mei Lanfang's classic plays, learn about the stories behind each opera costume, and explore the history contained in each headdress. The exhibition is held to commemorate the 130th anniversary of Mei Lanfang's birth and the 90th anniversary of Mei Baojiu's birth. With nine representative Mei-style plays as clues, the exhibition displays the exquisite costumes and headdresses worn by the two artists, many of which were personally designed by Mr. Mei Lanfang. By exploring the artistic collision in the creative process, the exhibition shows the Peking opera master's rigor in artistic creation and his endless pursuit of beauty. 🔸Highlights: "Peony Pavilion" blue satin printed bat copper coin female cape, court handcraft.
