Business hours and tickets: Yanqi Lake West Mountain Trail is a free scenic spot, open for 7 months a year and closed from November to March of the following year. Business hours are 07:00-17:00, and the area will be cleared after 16:30. Best time to visit: The scenery of the trail has its own characteristics in each season. October is the most beautiful time of the year. The golden maple leaves, fiery red cotinus and azure blue lake form a moving autumn picture. Recommended route: Exit 2-Exit 3 is the most essential section, where you can enjoy the view of Yanqi Lake from all angles. The viewing platform at Exit 3 is especially the best spot for taking photos of the lake view. This section takes about 1 hour.
