1 hour from Beijing, a small Barcelona at the foot of the Great Wall, my friends were asking me about it like crazy. I had been wanting to visit the Wa Factory Hotel for a long time, and finally went with my friend this weekend! Located in Beigou Village at the foot of the Mutianyu Great Wall, the hotel was converted from a glazed tile factory, so you can see colorful bricks and tiles everywhere. It is said to be the only rural heritage hotel in Beijing! Built on the mountain, with green hills, white clouds, red bricks, and green tiles, it has the leisurely and cozy atmosphere of the countryside, as well as the scenery of an American hotel. The environment is really beautiful! The hotel is built with red bricks and tiles, decorated with glazed tiles, surrounded by villages and mountains, fresh and natural! My kid's favorite hot spring pool is in the red brick maze, and he exclaimed, "It's so much fun!" There was no one there when we went, so we had the whole place to ourselves. It was really fun. Breakfast is served at the Wa Factory Western Restaurant, which is very rich, a combination of Chinese and Western. It was very heartwarming that the restaurant auntie brought freshly made handmade buns to each customer. I have to say, they were steaming hot and delicious! If you have enough time, you can go to climb the Mutianyu Great Wall early in the morning, visit the Wa Art Museum in the village, stroll around Beigou Village, or just find a quiet corner in the hotel to have a cup of coffee and read a book. It's really relaxing. We were lucky that the day we checked in was also the day Dong Yuhui's "Travel with Hui" was live streaming at the Wa Factory. We met several hosts and team members, but unfortunately, we didn't see Dong Yuhui because of the heavy rain at night!
