First impressions and reasons for choosing the hotel I took my family on a "super short trip" from Beijing, a four-day, three-night trip of eating, drinking, and having fun. We chose Regent Beijing because we were influenced by the funny old joke about the "Regent Hotel" in Stephen Chow's movie, and we wanted to see what it was all about. 2. Room type/layout The suite we initially stayed in had a slightly understated color scheme and space design. To give our baby more space to move around and better lighting, we switched to a club king room. This room type is spacious and bright, with a reasonable layout that meets the needs of family travel and adds comfort to our stay. 3. Supplies/facilities The hotel has a certain historical background, and some of the facilities show signs of age. For example, the bathtub and washbasin have limited space, which is a bit cramped when in use. However, the design of the sitting shower is ingenious and convenient for our daily use. The free minibar also shows the hotel's thoughtfulness, with a wide variety of drinks and snacks. In terms of hygiene, the hotel maintains a high standard of cleanliness, with spotless rooms. The soundproofing is also commendable, effectively blocking out outside noise and allowing us to enjoy a quiet rest in the room. 4. Dining 1. Breakfast: The breakfast at the second-floor restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious food. Although the overall style is more traditional, the quality is stable and reliable. The hotel's homemade bread and desserts are a must-try, with each one carefully baked. They brought us sweet surprises during our consecutive days of trying them, with no flaws. Although the breakfast at the lounge has relatively fewer options, the special truffle scrambled eggs and lobster scrambled eggs have a unique flavor and can be ordered à la carte. The dining environment is elegant and quiet, with few people and beautiful scenery. They also offer drinks, making breakfast time more enjoyable. 2. Lunch: We usually choose to have lunch at the hotel's Italian restaurant or Lei Garden, and we can use USD vouchers to enjoy delicious food while also getting some savings. 3. Afternoon tea: The lounge's afternoon tea is served in portions, which is exquisite and elegant. This form is loved by the family, especially the mother, who praises it highly, adding a touch of leisure and elegance to the afternoon. 4. Happy hour: During the 18:00–20:00 time slot, although the food options are not abundant, each dish is well-prepared. The bartender is skilled and carefully prepares unique drinks for us every day, bringing a different taste experience. However, it should be noted that the dining time is relatively short. If you want to continue chatting and drinking after the drink service ends, you need to communicate with the service staff in advance to reserve a drink to better enjoy this happy time. 5. Lounge features The lounge is tastefully designed, especially the best glass room location, which offers a panoramic view of the magnificent Forbidden City. The environment is quiet and peaceful, making it an excellent choice for handling some work matters or having private conversations. In addition to providing a variety of food during breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour, they also prepare a moderate amount of fruit, delicious candy, and cookies at other times. You can also order tea and juice, and there is a small refrigerator with various drinks for guests to take freely, providing a comfortable and convenient leisure space for guests. 6. Pool and fitness area The hotel's pool and fitness area is one of the best among five-star hotels in Beijing. The fitness area and yoga area are clearly separated and reasonably laid out, with beautiful street views outside the window, providing an enjoyable environment for guests to exercise. The pool area is equipped with three pools, each with its own characteristics. The main pool has a perfect water temperature, making it comfortable and pleasant to enter. The children's pool has a warmer water temperature, making the baby feel warm and happy while playing in the water. The hot tub is also a highlight, allowing guests to choose according to their preferences. The shower room is fully equipped, with dry steam, wet steam, and hot and cold pools, providing guests with a comprehensive relaxation experience and fully meeting their leisure and fitness needs.
