Experience the beauty of top-level architecture at Beijing's Imperial Ancestral Temple

👉The Imperial Ancestral Temple, also known as the Beijing Working People's Cultural Palace, is a major national cultural heritage site located in Dongcheng District, Beijing. According to the official website in April 2023, the scenic area covers more than 200 mu, with a temple building area of 2,240 square meters. It was built in the 18th year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1420) and served as the family temple where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshiped their ancestors. 👍The Imperial Ancestral Temple was built according to the traditional Chinese ritual system of "revering heaven and ancestors." It has a rectangular layout, measuring 475 meters from north to south and 294 meters from east to west, with three layers of walls. The front, middle, and rear halls form three enclosed courtyards. The main hall has eleven bays and four rooms, with a double-eaved hipped roof, a three-tiered white marble Sumeru base, and stone railings around it. 📌The main beams and columns in the hall are wrapped in agarwood, 📌while other architectural components are made of golden nanmu.
