Information on flower viewing at the Summer Palace in March: Flower Types and Viewing Locations • Magnolia: Mainly distributed in Leshoutang, Changguantang, outside the Summer Palace Museum, and near Jiehu Bridge. The best viewing period is from mid-March to late March. The magnolias in front of Leshoutang have been planted in patches since the Qianlong period, and when they bloom, they are called the "Sea of Jade Fragrance." • Hill Peach Blossom: The West Dike is an excellent location for viewing hill peach blossoms. They are also distributed in Changguantang, Nanhu Island, Zhichun Pavilion, Picture in Verse, the Back Lake, and Jiqingxuan. The flowering period is from mid-March to early April. • Plum Blossom: Can be viewed at the ZIQI Donglai City Gate, Xiejia Tower in the Garden of Harmonious Interest, around Yishoutang, along the imperial road in the back mountain, and in the Farming and Weaving Scenic Area. Flower Viewing Routes • Magnolia Viewing Route: Enter the park from the East Palace Gate and proceed to the Leshoutang area to admire the elegant beauty of the magnolias. • Back Mountain Flower Viewing Route: Enter from the North Ruyi Gate and stroll along the Houxi River to view hill peach blossoms, forsythia, lilac, viburnum, and plum blossoms. • Farming and Weaving Scenic Area Flower Viewing Route: Enter from the West Gate of the Summer Palace and walk along Zaojiantang Lake and Tuancheng Lake to reach the Farming and Weaving Scenic Area. Enjoy the beauty of hill peach blossoms, willows, winter jasmine, plum blossoms, and double peach blossoms as they bloom in succession. Photography Tips • Composition: Use flower clusters and branches as the foreground to create a sense of depth.
