Net Moon Lake

Net Moon Lake is a reservoir located in the southeastern suburbs of Changchun City, named for its crescent moon shape. Surrounded by a vast area of planted trees, it has become one of Changchun's largest forest parks and is often referred to as the sister lake of Taiwan's Sun Moon Lake. When visiting Net Moon Lake Forest Park, you can stroll along the lakeside, enjoy the scenic views of the reservoir dam, or wander through the wooden walkways in the forest, breathing in the fresh air and indulging in a forest bath. Additionally, the park features attractions such as the Net Moon Lake Ski Resort and Beiputuo Temple. Cycling Around the Lake The northwest entrance of Net Moon Lake Forest Park serves as the main gate, accessible via light rail or bus from the city center. The park is expansive, with roads encircling the lake. Walking the entire route could take a full day and be quite exhausting. At the main gate plaza, you can opt for a sightseeing vehicle (electric shuttle), which travels along the western lake road and ends at the ski resort, with stops along the way. However, cycling is a more enjoyable and less tiring option. Renting a bike at the main gate allows you to complete a loop around the lake in about two hours. Forest Bathing Area Net Moon Lake Park is densely forested with fresh air, making it ideal for forest bathing. On the southern shore of the lake lies a forest bathing area where you can stroll through the dense woods, relax, and breathe in the pure air. The western part of the park also has a smaller forest bathing area, perfect for picnics or camping with food, picnic mats, or even tents. The park also houses the Jilin Northeast Tiger Park, a separate attraction where you can see animals like Siberian tigers, African lions, brown bears, and sika deer. Boat Docks Boating on Net Moon Lake is a delightful experience, with docks located near the dam, ski resort, and forest bathing area. In winter, you can visit the Net Moon Lake Ski Resort for skiing, which offers beginner, intermediate, advanced slopes, and cross-country trails. In summer, you can try the ski resort's slideway, where you take a cable car up the mountain and then descend through a 1.6-kilometer-long tubular track surrounded by lush forest—a thrilling adventure.
