Beppu, shrouded in mist

⛩️ Beppu is located in Oita Prefecture, Japan, and is the second largest city in the prefecture. It is famous for its hot springs, with over 200 public hot springs throughout the city. The abundance and variety of spring sources are also among the world's most remarkable. These hot springs are known as 'hells' due to their appearance and temperature, which give a terrifying and spectacular impression. There are eight major 'hells' hot springs in the Beppu area, including the Sea Hell, Oniishi Bozu Hell, Mountain Hell, Shaven Head Hell, Demon Mountain Hell, White Pond Hell, Blood Pond Hell, and Tornado Hell. Each 'hell' has its own characteristics and temperature, with some of the springs reaching temperatures around 98 degrees Celsius, making them for viewing rather than bathing♨️. Among them, 'Sea Hell' is the largest of the eight springs. ⛩️ At the Beppu Hells, you can see the steamy mist of the hot springs every day. If you happen to visit on a foggy day, it feels as if you are in the midst of the TV series 'The Mist'. The view from above is even more dreamlike and fantastic.
