Brunel's SS Great Britain

#uktrip Without a doubt, One of the best museums I’ve been to! It holds so much history and science. From the entrance all the way to the end of the exhibits, the staff is very helpful and there is a lot to do, see and learn. What really captured my interest was the inside of the SS Great Britain itself. First we thought it was only the deck of the ship that is open to explore. But many of the ships interior, including cabins, kitchens, dining halls, engine room etc were very nicely presented with descriptions and figures. Don’t forget to see the ghost in the engine room! 😛 I’d say you can spend quality 3 hours in this place. If you want to grab a bite before or after visiting the museum, they have a cafe right there or there are a lot of restaurants just 5 minute walk away. They have a souvenir shop too. You can find all sorts of key tags, puzzles, bags and what not there. Since they are an independent entity every purchase will help them preserve the museum for future. You can find toilet facilities throughout the museum premises as well. In terms of parking, they have a car park very close to the museum itself and you can pay at the museum office for parking which actually makes it cheaper than that at the parking machine.
