The idyllic lake and village of Buttermere

#wheretogo #unitedkingdom While visiting North England, one of my to-go places was Buttermere, a picturesque gem in the Lake District, beckoning explorers with its tranquil beauty. Its allure is intertwined with the famed Romantic poet William Wordsworth, who wandered its shores and lived here for a period, finding inspiration for his verses. This otherwordly landscape, framed by hills and clear waters, is incredibly picturesque. One can simply walk around the lake like I did, which is about 7km in distance, visit the nearby village after traipsing across fields of colourful sheep and drink a pint of local lager. Highly recommended!
