The castle was originally built by the Ayyubid dynasty Saladin in the 12th century to fight the Crusaders. It later passed through the rule of the Mamluk dynasty in the 14th century and Muhammad Ali in the 19th century. Because it had never experienced a war, it was well preserved and was mainly used as the location of the Egyptian government official residence. It was later opened for tourism. Muhammad Ali inside, the mosque is said to be Muhammad Ali. When he first came to power, he killed all the Mamluks still in the city. The elderly Ali was ashamed and built this mosque to atone for his sins. We took a taxi in downtown Cairo. It was very hot outside, but it was very cool inside the mosque😊, the castle was very beautiful😍, and there was a small pavilion outside. This is a great viewing point overlooking the scenery of Cairo💕.
