Skovja Loka Slovenia

Skovja Loka Slovenia stands on a hill southeast of the old town center of Celje, covering an area of ​​no less than 5,500 square meters. Celje Castle was once the largest fortification in Slovenia and the residence of the Count of Celje. It has triple protective walls and a moat, making it impregnable. The castle's earliest history can be traced back to 1323. Its overall architecture includes the East Courtyard (where the square tower - Frederick's Tower is located), the West Courtyard (with agricultural, military facilities and wells), and several observation decks. Standing in the castle, tourists can enjoy the charming scenery of Celje and the surrounding Posavi Mountains.
