Guanyin Temple

Guanyin Temple, also made famous by Black Myth: Wukong. It's renowned for the Guanyin Hall, the main hall in the courtyard. Although the hall is less than 30 sq m, it houses over 500 suspended sculptures. Three walls and the roof beams are covered with gilded, painted, and suspended sculptures. Here, you'll find not only Buddhist figures like the three great Bodhisattvas including Guanyin, the Eighteen Arhats, and the Twenty-Four Devas, but also Taoist figures such as the Jade Emperor, the Queen Mother of the West, and the Eight Immortals. Look over there, statues of Confucius and his disciples are hidden in a corner, representing Confucian elements. Unlike the purely Buddhist culture found at Xiaoxitian Temple, the sculptures here blend Confucian, Buddhist, and Taoist cultures. Among the sculptures, you'll also find figures like market vendors, farmers, weavers, and opera characters interspersed throughout. Look, there's a performance on the stage; Sun Wukong hiding in a crevice, and depictions of historical events like the Tumu Crisis. Though small, it's exquisite, captivating visitors and making them reluctant to leave.
