The Temple of Xumi Fushou is located to the north of the Summer Resort in Chengde City and east of the Putuo Zongcheng Temple. It was built after the Tashilhunpo Temple in Xigaze in the 45th year of Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1780). On the 70th birthday of Emperor Qianlong, the political and religious leader of Tibet, Panchen Erdeni VI, traveled a long way to Chengde to celebrate his birthday. Qianlong ordered people to build a palace for the Panchen Lama, imitating the Tashilhunpo Monastery in Shigatse, where the Panchen Lama was based. This temple extends upward from the foot of the mountain and is majestic. The main body is the 3-story Dahongtai, with a double-eaves hall in the center, the Miaogao Zhuangyan Hall, commonly known as the Golden Tile Hall, which is the largest hall in the temple. Further to the north is the octagonal, seven-story glazed Wanshou Pagoda. There is a corridor around the tower, a door to the south on the ground floor, and relief Bodhisattva statues on all other sides. There are octagonal flat seats and stone railings on the second floor. There are nine buildings around the pagoda, Gangzi Hall, single pagoda and white platform. This temple can be regarded as a model of the combination of Tibetan and Chinese architectural art.
