Lei Family Courtyard

Lei Family Courtyard is a tourist attraction built on the site of the old brand 'Sichuan' character brick tea (made using the national intangible cultural heritage protection item 'Zhao Liqiao Brick Tea Making Technique') production site - the Sutree Tea Plantation area. It is bordered by Ma'anshan to the east, Songfeng Mountain at the foot of Guanyin South to the west, accompanied by the famous 'Guanyin Spring' of Yanglou, and connected to Yuantong Temple and the ancient Heng District of the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the north, covering an area of 38 mu, with a construction area of 5,000 square meters. There are 10 guest rooms, all named after the tea houses that were once at the height of their prosperity, which gives a glimpse into the bustling past. Pushing open the window, one is greeted with the lush greenery of a small Jiangnan courtyard, with its unique Jiangnan style, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is an ideal place for suburban leisure tourism. There are 8 private rooms and a dining hall, which can accommodate 280 people for dining. The ingredients for the dishes in the villa are all top-quality eco-friendly products, using water for tea-making, and the tea served is Yanglou brick tea. The Lei Family Courtyard has white walls and black tiles, with high horse-head walls, as if it has stepped out of a painting. Stepping into the courtyard, the embroidered buildings are elegant, and the doors and windows are carved with beams and painted rafters, the profoundness of Qing Dynasty architectural culture is deeply engraved in every flower, every tree, and every texture. Inside the courtyard, there is a tea culture display area, showcasing a large number of precious photographs taken by British and Russian merchants in the 1870s with glass plate cameras. The photos record the process of making Dong tea, the difficulties and hardships of Dong tea being sold thousands of miles away, its brilliance and glory, and also preserve the historical stories of the Yanglou Dong tea industry.
