The building is very conspicuous, standing on the side of the old street, but it's not clear how to get up there. Notify the housekeeper in advance, and she will wait for you at the street. Then, with your luggage, you'll take two elevators and climb several flights of stairs to get there. Don't be intimidated by the journey; once you reach the hotel, the beautiful scenery makes all the effort worthwhile. 🧩The hotel is divided into two areas, with the reception and some rooms in one area. This building has been reconstructed according to the original design. Opposite is another area, consisting of two old buildings: the residence of the military attache of the American Embassy during the Republic of China period and the New China Trust and Savings Bank, plus a large courtyard. My room was in the yellow bank building. The room is very spacious with lots of windows. The window facing the bed offers views of the Dongshuimen Bridge and the Huguang Guild Hall across the river. The night view is beautiful. When you open the window, you'll find that outside the room is a viewing platform in the old street where many people take photos and check in. But the room's soundproofing is excellent; it's noisy when the window is open, but immediately quiet when closed. You don't have to worry about sleep at all. 🧩The courtyard is very comfortable. When the weather is good, you can sit here, drink tea, relax, and stare at the bridge. If you want to go out for a walk, it's also very convenient. The hotel is located within the old street, and various viewing platforms are just outside the door. But I think the best viewing platform is actually inside the courtyard. The hotel is not far from Shangxinjie subway station, but it does require climbing some stairs. 🧩The breakfast variety is not extensive, but the quality is quite good. The only issue is that breakfast starts a bit late, I forgot if it's 8:00 or 8:30. ✍️If you like old buildings, or if you like the Sunyata brand and Teacher Xie Ke's design, it's worth experiencing. I recommend staying on the side with the old buildings; after all, since you've come, you should definitely stay in the authentic old houses.
