“Cyber city! It’s crazy!” That phrase from Jia-Kang-Ge (甲亢哥) went viral everywhere when he recently visited Chongqing. But honestly, Chongqing’s nights have long amazed countless photographers. The monorail weaving between skyscrapers, the sea of taxis beneath neon-red and green lights, the overpasses at dusk… Mist, lights, density, speed—every frame feels like living inside a movie. Below are some of my favorite cyberpunk-inspired shooting spots I’ve compiled over the past two years. Touching down right as the city hit its “golden hour,” the view out the window felt like the opening scene of a film. I chose to stay at Donghewan Hotel in the city center—super convenient for both metro and monorail, so chasing spots was effortless. The lobby and room designs were also incredibly photogenic. Snapping a photo isn’t hard; capturing Chongqing’s unique texture might take visiting several times.
