I've been obsessed with this homestay since I first saw it online, but the distance always held me back! Finally seized a sunny day to drive 1.5 hours from downtown Chongqing to the foot of Huaying Mountain—Shangshanshan Homestay. This "city escape plan" was worth every minute! Easy access—just navigate directly by name. The mountain breeze is refreshingly cooler than the city, perfect for light cardigans mornings and evenings! Chongqing's summer heat needs no explanation—one breath of this dewy air instantly explains what a "natural air-conditioned paradise" means ✨ Each room features a private soaking tub. Immersed in warm water while listening to the wind and rustling leaves—this is what vacation should feel like~ The bedding is cloud-soft, and the AC chills so effectively I snuggled under blankets (Chongqing survival 101: praise the AC gods!). Complimentary mini-bar with Sam's Club snacks. The floor-to-ceiling windows stole my heart—endless greenery outside, every corner a ready-made forest photoshoot. The young staff are ultra-responsive! Luggage was carried to our room at check-in, and bedtime sweet soup delivery was heartwarming. Though newly opened with slight renovation smell (normal in humid mountains), cleanliness and odor-free environment won us over. ▪️ Dining: Dinner can be ordered at the homestay or nearby farmhouses (we skipped fearing disappointment); breakfast options are limited and lightly flavored. ▪️ Insects: Fewer on second floor, bring repellent for ground-level rooms. ▪️ Café: Out of coffee beans that day (missed hand-drip opportunity), but didn't diminish overall experience.
